Theater

Each year, the children take part in two outdoor theater performances—one for our Fall Festival in October, and another for our Spring Festival at the end of the school year. They not only act in the plays, but also perform the musical score and sound effects as a small ensemble, guided by our music teachers. Costumes and sets are handmade together, adding another layer of creativity and collaboration to the experience.

Visual Arts

Visual arts are part of our program all year long, giving children many opportunities to create with different media. Throughout the year, we work with watercolors, acrylics, pastels, pencils, mosaics, and paper collages. We practice drawing animals, landscapes, and enjoy fun, themed art projects for holidays and seasonal celebrations.
Our art projects are carefully aligned with scientific endeavors, ensuring a holistic learning experience that engages multiple types of intelligence for each child. For example, when we study geography, our projects reflect the art, culture, and beauty of the region we’re exploring.
Crafts and baking
We love celebrating the seasons as part of our school year, adding beautiful milestones to the rhythm of learning and day-to-day education. To do this, we include seasonal art and craft projects in our curriculum—making nature-inspired art with fall foliage, baking apple pies from local apples, and decorating festive autumn cookies. As Christmas approaches, we create handmade ornaments and thoughtful gifts for our families and our Christmas Market. We also bake holiday treats to share with local firefighters, police officers, and neighbors. In spring, we celebrate the season and honor Mother’s Day with special projects made with care and love for our moms.
Music

We believe deeply in the value of music—not only for a child’s soul, but also for their overall development. While many enjoy the beauty of a well-played song, the deeper impact of music on brain development is often overlooked. Playing music engages fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination, and activates areas of the brain that few other activities do—helping form lasting neural connections.
Our music program includes both general music and instrument instruction, offered in individual and small group settings.
In general music classes, children learn about rhythm, melody, harmony, and music notation in a playful and engaging way.
Instrument lessons focus on music the children choose themselves, making learning personal and enjoyable. Between our two dedicated music teachers, we offer instruction in piano, drums, guitar, ukulele, violin, and cello.
Children also have opportunities to play duets and ensemble pieces, developing listening and collaboration skills that are different from solo practice. They learn to play by ear, build harmonies, and create simple accompaniments—giving them tools to make music of their own.
Science
Our science curriculum’s goal is to make learning about the world around us both fun and memorable, while also exploring the real science behind what we observe.
Our program director, who holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Physics and Mathematics, brings her passion for science and deep insight into how the world works—from tiny particles to the vast universe. For example, when studying seasonal changes, we explore why leaves change color from a biochemical perspective. Around Christmas, we learn the astronomy behind the changing seasons.
In physics and chemistry, children engage in hands-on activities and projects while also learning the real science behind what they observe.
When learning anatomy at an age-appropriate level, children discover how their bodies are built and how to use that knowledge to stay strong and healthy.
Our science program also includes a geography block, where each year we explore a new region of the world. From the animals and nature to people’s culture, music, arts, and food, geography becomes a vivid journey of discovery. These lessons include art projects inspired by regional styles, cooking traditional dishes, and drawing or painting landscapes—bringing the world to life through creativity.
Altogether, our science curriculum offers children a broadening of their horizons and a solid scientific foundation—all while keeping learning fun and engaging.
Outdoor Time

As children grow and need more time for their art and science activities, we offer outdoor time as a separate Forest School Day for our older grades. This full day in nature balances focused indoor learning with plenty of fresh-air adventure. It can be enjoyed on its own or added as a second day alongside our music, arts, and science program, whenever space allows.
Teachers and staff
Our staff bring a variety of educational backgrounds and skills, and we enjoy sharing our passions in art, science, and music. We aim to make learning both meaningful and fun. All team members are CBI background checked, and lead staff hold current First Aid and CPR certifications.
